The port cabins of the Arcachon basin, also called "cabanons", are traditional constructions emblematic of the region. Made of wood and often painted in bright colors, they line the quays and banks of the basin. Formerly used by fishermen to store their equipment and shelter their boats, many of them are now renovated and serve as vacation homes or small businesses.
