Description

Saint-Pierre Beach in Martinique is located in the historic town of Saint-Pierre, on the northwest coast of the island. This beach, often less crowded than those in the south of Martinique, is characterized by its black sand, the result of the volcanic activity of the region. Saint-Pierre is known for its historical past, including having been devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1902. Today, Saint-Pierre Beach is surrounded by historical remains and offers a magnificent view of Mount Pelée, Martinique's emblematic volcano. The Belem was one of the few sailing ships to survive the disaster.
