Description
The cabane tchanquée stands majestically on its stilts, above the waters uncovered by the low tide. Built of wood, it is typically painted in bright colours such as blue, red or green, contrasting with the light sand and the remains of shallow water around it. The wooden stilts, worn by time, are partially submerged in the mud or sand, and the hut almost seems to float above this exposed ground. The sky is usually clear or slightly cloudy, with hues of blue or warm shades depending on the time of day. The sunlight reflects on the wet surfaces, creating plays of light and shadow that accentuate the details of the hut and the surrounding landscape.
