Description
A striking detail of the fountain of the Girondins Column, on the Place des Quinconces in Bordeaux, comes to life. The water gushes forth in crystalline volutes, capturing the light in a burst of fluid blues and greens.
The bronze horses, with tense muscles and manes whipped by an invisible wind, seem to leap out of the basin, frozen in a surge of power and grace. Each shade of verdigris on the patinated metal bears witness to the passage of time, giving the scene an almost mythical depth.
