Description
This oil painting depicts a powerful wave, capturing the energy and wild beauty of the ocean. The artist uses shades of blue, green, and white to illustrate the dynamic movement of the water. The wave rises with an emerald translucency at the top, contrasting with the darker depths below. The splashes of white foam and luminous reflections suggest a natural play of light, likely under a bright sky. The background is uncluttered, leaving ample room for the wave to express its intensity. The style is impressionistic, with expressive brushstrokes and visible texture, typical of oil painting. The overall effect evokes an atmosphere that is both powerful and calming, recalling the fascination the sea can exert.

About the artist

Born in Montmartre in 1963, painting and writing have allowed Sako, whose real name is Serge Armagan, to put words to his pain. A painter for 40 years, but having always painted, he acknowledges that he is only just beginning to understand that the quest for excellence is a life's work and never ends. This humility, this quest for visual emotion that we offer to the gaze of others, are the guiding principles of his work.
