Description
The minimalist acrylic painting shows two Bedouin princes riding their Arabian horses at full gallop. The horses are elegantly adorned with traditional Arabian draping. The princes, wrapped in long flowing robes, are painted in simple shades of white, grey and black, which underscore their majestic presence. The composition is reduced but powerful. The horses appear to be caught in motion, with a touch of dynamism suggested by a few, precise lines. Their slender silhouettes contrast with the clear emptiness of the background, which puts the focus on the movement and pride of the riders. The painting conveys an atmosphere of dignity and tradition in the minimalist color palette.

Horst Ludwig, born in 1946, - nominated for the Artist OF EUROPE AWARD 2024 in Florence -  is a renowned artist with many years of experience and great expertise in the field of painting. Since his childhood, animals, especially horses, have accompanied him as loyal companions. In his youth, Horst Ludwig spent a lot of time in the old churches and cathedrals of the former GDR, where he often supported painters and picture restorers. In the community of freelance painters, he learned various painting techniques, and his talent was recognized and encouraged early on. This time had a lasting impact on his passion for painting.

Horst Ludwig is the proud father of two daughters. After 57 happy years of marriage, he lost the love of his life in February 2023. Despite this loss, the shared love of Arabian thoroughbreds and their breeding continues to shape everyday life on the family estate near Stralsund on the island of Rügen, where he lives and works as a free spirit and artist. His studio, affectionately called "Kleckshäuschen", is called "al Kuhl," derived from the Arabic word "al-kuhl," which for him symbolizes the beauty, elegance and grace of Arabian horses as well as the trust and deep bond between humans and animals.

Horst Ludwig's passion for horses and life in all its facets is impressively reflected in his works. The painter exhibits regularly and his studio is open to visitors, who are always welcome.
