“I made blank gestures among the solitudes”

(Guillaume Apollinaire - Merlin and the old woman - Alcohols)

L' Rev's painting seems to us to play on the poetic force of white, of light, of silence... Space white and universal light, silence of the spheres and the abyss... Temptation of white, universal and painful purity... high requirement ! White – luminosity, dazzling…And color like a conflagration. Like an unsatisfied violence, like a liberation and like a first cry. Like a veil too, like a filter, like a breath...Green explosions, red spurts, blue fulminations, yellow shocks, orange explosions, purple surges...Universe of the world's childhood, of marine genesis, of plant uprising...pure immobility of where it sounds like a buried rumor, a dark fire, a volcanic stridency, like a lava that smolders under the ice floe and breaks through...L' Rev paints the origin, the possibility perhaps, of color. Color in its essential violence - its hot breath - its free and sovereign sexuality...The extirpation of red, the painful birth of yellow, the unexpected emergence of green, the healthy invasion of blue...
