In The Spirit Of Dubuffet

One Day In The Year 1969 From The Side In Montreal, An Exhibition Was Held Dedicated To Dubuffet. His Pictorial Approach Confirmed My Decision To Want To Restart My Own Approach On New Bases. I Left Again Zero. I Abandoned The Desire To Join The Current Painters Of The Moment Without Knowing That I Was Only Joining A Trend.   After Which I Felt The Urge To Go And See What Happened Next. Of The Mayans If The World Could Be Inscribed In Another Thought. An Old Dream Of  My Teenage Period. All I Had To Do Was Organize Myself For A Six-month Stay There. Across Mexico. There Are A Few Images Left, Including This One From Palenque, And Sensations That Would Not Fail To Resurface Later In My Work.   The Result Was Paintings Of Which Some Traces Remain And A Taste For Resuming Pictorial Work. But For Practical Reasons, I Abandoned Abstraction For A Time, Returning To The Representation Of The World Such As The Majority Imagine It. Here's What It Looked Like.   A Corner Of The Countryside At The Foot Of  And  The Other Side From Iztaccihualt, Towards Puebla.    At The Same Time, The Spirit Of My "doodles" On The Corner Of Parisian Bistro Tablecloths Resurfaces And It Will Give Me Ideas. The Transition To Color Gives Me An Approach More Complex And Ideas For The Future. Between The Cheese And The Pear... Shapes Emerge Like Ghosts...   A Game Starting From Image To Try To Go Beyond Appearances. And Then Some Wanderings In Memory Of Mexico, Like An Unbridled Exercise In On The Pattern. The Game With The Movements Of Lines Which Travel Through Space The Image Of A Nature Where The Straight Line Is Practically Non-existent, As Is The Game Of Creating A Portrait With A Few Brush Strokes In A Very Limited Time; Will Be The Evolution Of Bistro Drawing Towards My Oil Paintings. Come.   Of A Clearing... Like After The Bing-bang.   To A Magma That Seeks Itself...   And A Birth, A Life.   Shapes That Evolve... Before Becoming Ceramic Murals.   And Sketches In A Few Brush Strokes, Portraits Then Suggestions And Intentions...   Which Initiates The Idea Of Emptiness.
