Creative Origins

I started studying Fine Arts because I always loved fashion and I was convinced having strong skills in hand drawing and art knowledge could only fuel my future career as a designer. This love, broth me to many life choices - moving away to study art when 13 years old, departing to Italy when I was 19, living in Milan, moving to Switzerland for work, and then, moving to picturesque France. Each chapter of my journey is a testament to my restless desire for creative pursuits.

My art

I know you wouldn’t say, but my art is not decorative. It’s conceptual.

In university, when I was studying History of Fashion and Costume, are those who manage to capture the spirit of the time.

Now, just to give you a quick glimpse of my background: because of the school I chose (of Fine Arts), I had a very rigid artistic education between 13 and 18. In university, I studied fashion design.

I also worked as a designer. And as a designer, I always kept up with the spirit of the time.

Unavoidably, being a designer signed me. It gave me a Brave New perspective. For Art as well. So, if you watch my art and think it’s a pretty object, commercial, and joy for the eyes, I invite you to step aside.

And look again.

You might find yourself surprised to discover that my art is not decorative, it’s merely conceptual, more than else. It simply represents the spirit of the time we live in today.

Artistic approach

My inspiration
We live in the era of overly, mass-producing and overly, mass consuming.
We buy products, goods and objects, in addition to those we already have. But without really using these objects and things.

Because how many clothes one can actually wear? And how many objects does one really need in its home?
The Spirit of This Time is signed by the digitalisation of everything. A person’s face can be digitalised and prompted as an “avatar”; a person’s thoughts can be replaced by AI instruments. A person’s life is exported to social media.
Unavoidably, this technology (r)evolution shaped an unrealistic human - the digital human. Which identity is tuned by filters, surrounded by labelled clothes and unnecessary objects.

It’s like we gave consensually objects the power to represent us, to story-tell our personality. In my paintings, you will always find the link to this concept and vision of what contemporary means to me.
The shiny objects, colourful fishes or detailed portraits - they are all meant to be attractive images (exactly like everything you see on social media), that hide a secret. The secret to what contemporary is.

Why I create

Social and modern topics influence my art, true. But also my art influences my social engagement. Recently I discovered another way of expressing my thoughts - by scripting and editing short videos that I commitedly publish on my YouTube channel, named Brave New World.

That's why, if I have to label myself with an adjective, more than an artist, I would call myself a creator. Because art can have many shades, but what really matters is why it engages you. I do it, to capture the Spirit of This Time. But mostly, I do it because only when I create I feel myself.

2023
was the year in which I've decided it's time to speak my mind, through art.
