Discover the contemporary work of Alissa
Alissa explores the city through a series of twilight urban landscapes, familiar and strange. Alleys, dead ends, deserted squares where the warm mineral shadow of a possible humanity remains. The light attenuates the feeling of abandonment. Light both claimed by the presence of public lighting, and secret source of bluish transparencies and carmine opacities whose movements of opposition and composition shape a very special architecture. In the end, the drawing is forgotten, melted into the furtive border lines between the colored regions of the image. From this fusion is born a dark and serene energy that absorbs our gaze. The nights of Alissa's cities are benevolent, they reconcile us with landscapes that we know are disturbing, hard, darkly mysterious like those of children's nights." http://lary-stolosh.blog.lemonde.fr/

My drawings or paintings are always a journey that can find its first form in a pilgrimage that can be urban or more interior. I wander externally or internally in search of aspiration, an aspiration by an emotion. I seek an echo to my disorder in order to get it out and be able to tame it.
Then in the studio I will prolong the trance by the kind of meditation that the new path of painting offers me. When I have a photographic trace of the place of my ek-stasis, I prefer that this trace be blurred and in the form of several different shots in order to concentrate on the emotion. Then, whether I paint with oils or inks, I always paint with primary colors without deciding in advance on my colors that appear through the mixture that occurs directly on the canvas or paper.
From the tumult of emotions felt during an anecdotal moment, I reconstruct a new image carrying another meaning. The inverted image of my disorder becomes a proposal for meditation and inner peace. I no longer seek to be absent but on the contrary to be fully in this new pictorial order which is being established in the studio and which reconciles opposites.
