Discover the contemporary work of Amandine Granger

My name is Amandine Granger, I was born on November 15, 2000 in Angers, France. From a young age, I have had a deep passion for art in all its forms, which naturally led me to artistic studies. After obtaining my baccalaureate with an option in visual arts, I joined the School of Fine Arts (TALM), where I was able to perfect my skills and explore new techniques. I obtained a National Diploma of Art (DNA) with a mention in textile techniques. It was during my years at TALM Angers that my relationship with materials took a particular direction. While I initially worked with textiles, I was gradually drawn to the potential of concrete, a raw and rigid material that, paradoxically, allowed me to capture fluid forms and movements, often inspired by the folds of textiles. Concrete thus became central to my work, opening the way to a deep reflection on the absence of the body and the way in which materials can evoke invisible memories and presences. My work thus began to: crystallize around recurring themes: absence, memory, and the transformation of materials.

My artistic work, centered around concrete and textile sculpture, addresses existential questions related to memory, human fragility, and temporality. Each work is the result of a complex process of metamorphosis, where textiles are covered with layers of concrete, evoking the passage of time and the inevitable erasure of memories. My sculptures explore the border between presence and absence, materiality and immateriality, playing on the suspension of movement and the poetics of absence. Today, I continue to explore the relationship between materials and immateriality in my works, while seeking new ways to integrate my artistic production work and exhibition projects. My commitment translates into both a theoretical reflection on the role of art in society and a daily practice of material experimentation.
