Discover the contemporary work of Anne GRENIER
Anne Grenier grew up in the south of France; she still lives and works in France. Her cultural heritage – Cataluña - is reflected in her choice of colours and style. Drawing together a wealth of inspiration from Gaudi to Lewis Caroll with a burst of Pop Art to add vibrancy; her interest in the human psyche is reflected in her use of recyclable things. She is interested in the patterns and rhythms found in nature, architecture and design and how repetition and variation of themes can create lyrical and narrative properties. Her inspiration springs from a desire to create a world of exuberance, playfulness, spirituality and humour. Her paintings and sculptures are mainly made of cement and lacquer and she often represents reality trough small stuff the more often vintage objects made of steel, wood, various fabrics put together with seashell, stones, enamels, mirrors, genuine tools, keys… aiming to capture the sublime essence of life. Unusual bits and pieces, picked-up hither and thither, emphasized thanks to silver (or gold or lead) leaf and strong colours resulting in richly textured decorative paintings and sculptures, all small daily poems of humankind. she enjoys working with strongly contrasting colours and tones to create a harmonious balance. The images often feature backlighting and luminosity. You can see her works in various galleries as :- Juste Autrement Gallery - Saint-Julien-en-Genevois - Switzerland - Villa Marais Gallery - Paris - France And also in :- the restaurant of the famous Les Roches Blanches hotel - Cassis - France - the entrance of a very important local public sector organisation Le Conseil Général - Privas – France Lots of pieces representing more than 15 years of work have been bought by numerous customers, private individuals as well as commercial or public sector organisations.
