Discover the contemporary work of annick LE DUAULT
Artist with a multidisciplinary background, graduated as an architect DPLG from the Beaux-arts de Paris, she practiced her profession for several years. But, thinking of other horizons, was a professional furniture designer and comic strip colorist, and a visual arts teacher. Finally, Annick le Duault rediscovered her old and persistent passion for creating works expressed through a trend "art brut", created from casts of imprints on the earth.
Moving from plaster to resin, pigments in gel coat, monochrome or bichrome. Her techniques, materials and subjects evolve as she thinks.
She has been exhibiting for over ten years from Montpellier to Sète, from Uzès to Vèzenobres, from Lussan to Aix en Provence and Alès, via Saint Quentin la Poterie, Arpaillargues and others.
Annick Le Duault follows in the footsteps of Malevich who began his work in 1915 with his "Black Square on a White Background".
Like Soulages and Burren, she explores the fundamental strength of these two essential and primitive values. A fusion of painting and sculpture, her work embodies a contemporary bas-relief. Within the conventional framework of an oil on canvas, she develops resin-based surfaces revealing as many random stalagmites as inverted imprints, when the hollow becomes relief.
