Discover the contemporary work of Annie BECCO
I studied and practiced drawing, composition, illustration, posters and even modeling in high school throughout my schooling.
I learned watercolor and dry pastel in private workshops or at the Beaux-Arts in adult classes for many years at the end of which, having acquired a certain maturity I moved towards abstraction.
I had another job that allowed me to live and raise my children once I was a widow but which also allowed me to have time to practice my art.
Since 1984, I have participated in numerous group exhibitions or salons as well as personal exhibitions in galleries.
I have received many awards including the award of the contemporary art prize by the Languedoc Academy during a ceremony at the Senate in November 2023 for my entire career and more locally the painting prize at the Flourens salon in April 2024.
I have participated in the “artsenbalade” since its creation.
I also led workshops for adults for six years.
My official rating was established this year by Pierre Gimenez, European expert approved by the Court of Appeal, and I am referenced in the art collector's book written by Pierre Gimenez and Christian Bros, art lover.
Freeing myself from reality, emancipating myself from the image to explore other chromatic possibilities while maintaining a coherent and balanced composition are my requirements as well as the association of transparency and a certain thickness alternating strength and fluidity.
I like the play of colors, their confrontation or their complementarity.
I loved working with "black" in my paintings but I am returning to more colorful and joyful shades.
If I use the square format rather I can also use rectangles or triple squares to modify my approach to composition and thus avoid automatic gestures.
