badoud oumayma

EN- Since her childhood in Fès, Morocco, her artistic journey has been profoundly influenced by her mother, who is also an artist. She recalls with emotion the hours spent observing her mother in her studio, surrounded by her canvases, immersed in her creative process. These moments sparked in her a genuine curiosity and a love for art, which have continued to grow over time.

Born in the city of Fès, rich in cultural and artistic heritage, she grew up in an environment where creativity seemed omnipresent. This initial influence shaped her vision and her deep connection with art. From an early age, she understood that art would be a way for her to explore and express what words could not convey.

Yet, her current style is the result of a long journey. Over the years, she has participated in numerous exhibitions and artist residencies, both nationally and internationally, which have been crucial milestones in her evolution. These experiences allowed her to confront her work with diverse audiences, exchange ideas with other artists, and refine her approach.

Today, she describes her style as 'intuitive abstraction'. She characterizes it as a delicate balance between fluidity and intensity, where a rich and contrasting palette plays a central role. Each canvas is an exploration of duality: between control and spontaneity, light and shadow, calm and energy. She often begins her works with instinctive gestures, letting her emotions and inspirations guide their development. Her compositions, marked by vibrant textures and layers of hues, capture fragments of emotions and echoes of experiences, while offering the viewer the freedom to project their own story.

For her, each painting is a window into a constantly evolving inner world. Art becomes a dialogue, a space of sharing between her emotions and those of others. Once created, her works become a bridge between her and those who observe them, inviting them to feel and interpret freely.

What makes her journey so moving is the importance of her roots. She often reflects on the artistic transmission she received from childhood. Her work is both a tribute to her family heritage and a deeply personal quest. Each painting, each creative gesture, is a step in this infinite journey of creation, always marked by the imprint of her hometown, Fès, and the cultural richness it embodies.
