Discover the contemporary work of Véro BECKER

Born on April 14, 1965 in Moyeuvre-Grande in Lorraine, of Italian and Yenish descent, Vero Becker discovered her passion for painting at the age of 6 thanks to her uncle, who gave her her first tubes of oil and introduced her to this art, taking her to all the exhibitions and museums of Impressionists, Surrealists, modern and contemporary painters. At the same time, her father taught her drawing, thus contributing to the development of her artistic talent from a very young age. (1st prize in painting in the city in 1973), pencil always in hand. The local artist Bühler taught her gouache and inks.
Refusing academic paths to maintain her creative freedom, she forged a unique identity through apprenticeships and the study of the great masters via numerous books. A promising young artist, she completed numerous commissions for copies of famous paintings from the age of 13, thus fueling her admiration for iconic figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Cabanel, Bouguereau, Fragonard, etc. Throughout her life, she explored all painting techniques: graphite, charcoal, red chalk, inks, watercolors, collages, etc. She also discovered the ochres of the Luberon.
In 1980, she was presented and exceptionally accepted at the Applied Arts School in Strasbourg, but refused to enter. due to family separation.
In 1984, she taught painting with the association "Leisure and Relaxation" in Moyeuvre-Grande, offering classes for adults.
From 2006 onwards, she devoted herself exclusively to her painting. Her tendency toward carefully chosen colors—black, gold, and red—converses with light, shadow, and more refined compositions. The contrasts are powerful.
In 2008, after meeting Nancy artist MOLOK and their joint exhibitions, poor respiratory health forced her to abandoning oils in favor of acrylics, a medium in which she ultimately flourished. Vero Becker deepened her research into ancient painting, thus enriching her practice and expertise. She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, including at the Louvre, in Crete, Heraklion, and at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Her works are now featured in private collections around the globe, testifying to the impact and appreciation of her art by a variety of art lovers. Currently, Vero Becker devotes herself to her art in her studio, where Every day represents a new opportunity to create. His artistic approach, free and sincere, transcends conventions and testifies to his deep love for painting.
