Discover the contemporary work of Bertrand GREGOIRE
Bertrand GREGOIRE, after having led the in parallel with careers as a designer and teacher of applied art design, today he devotes himself fully to activity of sculptor.
Through a subtle contemporary blend of pop’art and 3D pixelation, this collection offers us here a series of antagonistic figures, opposing their two facial halves, both by their definitions and their materials, their textures and their colors.
In this new series with various iconic inspirations, he addresses themes that are dear to him; prehistoric Venus, ancient deities, vanities, while revisiting the emblematic figures of comics.
The artist takes us into a matrix/sensory universe; from the deep blackness of an abrupt matrix to the brilliant sparkles of rhinestones, from the implacable modernity of from the cube to; sensitivity classic golden scrolls the sheet, as if to better express the ambivalence that resides in each of our complex personalities.
In the age of 3D printers and everything digital, if the artist draws inspiration from this as a starting postulate, the craftsmanship of his works, on the other hand, remains no less artisanal, in the tradition of modeling and resin cast in his workshop, into unique pieces, which make them exceptional pieces.
While conventional sculpture strives to show and contemporary art only demonstrates, the artist’s work is part of a contemporary approach, while confirming his deep love for the material.
