Discover the contemporary work of Bertrand VÉTIER

Started painting in 1989, attended various classes including those at the École des Beaux-Arts in Le Mans (France), with renowned masters such as Roger Blaquière, Philippe Brault and Guy Brunet.
First expressed himself preferentially through watercolour, which combined technicality and spontaneity, then gradually acquired rigour and writing through regular practice of sketching on a live model; simultaneously embarked on the path of painting at oil with first of all still life as favorite themes then intimate portraits, marking a particular interest in the quest for the interiority of the model as well as a particular attention to the effects of light on bodies, objects, draperies...
Committed to the path of figuration, with the most traditional medium there is: oil painting; I explore the classic themes of portraiture, the body, so-called still life, even landscape, always with the same immersive pleasure in the suspended time of the moment of painting.
