Discover the contemporary work of Cécile Plessis

Photography has always been a part of my life since childhood. Even as a child, I found it magical to be able to see moments that had passed and also discover moments I hadn't even experienced...
After working for several years in publishing, I became a photographer specializing in family photography. At the same time, I've always pursued personal photography projects, in line with my values.

My artistic approach is above all instinctive, guided by raw emotion. It is often a fleeting light, a forgotten detail, an atmosphere charged with memory... I photograph what touches me, what speaks to me, what sometimes haunts me. Photography is for me a silent language that allows me to tell, to remember, and, above all, to question.
Light holds a central place in my work. Through my series Fragile Harmony and Echoes of the Future, I seek to take a sensitive look at our relationship with the living. The first is a tribute to the fragile beauty of nature, to its delicate balance that we too often threaten. The second imagines what would remain, 50 years after our disappearance: a free, powerful, mysterious nature—but marked by our passage.
My work is part of a profoundly ecological approach. I hope to awaken consciences through emotion, doubt, and contemplation. It is an invitation to slow down, to feel, to look at things differently. A way of saying: look at what we have, what we could lose, and what the Earth could become again without us.
