Having been able to come into contact with various environments and influences, Benoît Chateau therefore remains very open to new ideas. equally varied styles and artists.
The act of painting abstract expressionism, the figurative, impressionism... And the suggestion, thanks to this urban trend (street-art, pop-art) allowing it to convey some messages and exploit current topics...
Autodidact, Benoît Chateau therefore acts in a thoughtful manner, while working intuitively and instinctively on his works.
The abstract background of the work will always be my starting point. With the main inspiration being Nature which takes over the Urban, or this interpretation that the imagination will face the walls of a cave, but also a landscape...
My graphic compositions also reveal a certain Bauhaus influence. This allows me to create modern and contemporary works. both Timeless... and subtly engaged for some of my series.
This mix of styles will be my signature and will create a universe that is ultimately my own and identifiable. Perceived as "chic and elegant", thanks to the application of a resin which will be the finishing step on most of my works. Indeed, applied to the surface, the resin therefore generates great elegance with raw aspects and material effects which remain perceptible in transparency on the canvas.
