Discover the contemporary work of Jean-françois CLEMENCEAU
Self-taught - Born in Saintes (Charente-Maritime).
After a happy encounter with Bulgarian painters (professors at the Beaux-Arts), who taught him to see the things around him differently, he blossomed in contact with warm colors. His many trips around the Mediterranean influenced his way of working with colors and brightened his palette. His knife painting in the style of "Figurative gestural a little colorist" is essentially composed of landscapes and seascapes.
The human being begins to appear on his canvases sparingly since his recent and fruitful trip to the Antilles. He likes to paint islands, protected places, still wild where human encounters are authentic and colorful.
He is very close to nature that he loves and respects, his passion for trees is an example of this. Painting trees, immortalizing them on canvas, is paying tribute to them and showing the world that they are the major players in the climate regulation of our planet. Since the end of 2010, his painting has been enriched with a new writing: ‘’Abstract Poetry’’ where emotions, musicians and moods predominate.
