From roofing to canvas: an artistic renaissance
For two decades, I climbed scaffolding, hammered zinc and tamed slates. Roofer-zinc worker, a profession that shaped me, but from which I had to distance myself after an accident at work. The abrupt end of this busy life left a void that I decided to fill with training. My goal? To become a zincwork instructor, to pass on my knowledge.
It was then that a coincidence, as often happens in life, changed the course of my life. A canvas, three primary colours and thirty euros: that's what I needed to reconnect with an unsuspected passion. Intrigued, I embarked on this artistic adventure, guided by the desire to create. The portrait of my father, my first attempt, aroused the enthusiasm of a gallery owner, who offered me to create a work for one of his clients.
This first success was the trigger for a new vocation. I continued my artistic quest by training as a decorative painter. Today, I am an artist at entirely, my brushes having replaced my roofing tools. This unexpected reconversion allowed me to discover a rich and abundant creative universe, where I can express all my sensitivity
The artist Fabrice Grux explores the dreamlike universe.
He is particularly interested by experimenting with various media combining color harmonies and depth.
He develops his own knife technique in order to reveal chimerical forms.
This sweet dreamer transports us into the world of dreams.
Sensitive to environmental issues, he draws inspiration from uprooted tree stumps to materialize his concerns related to climate change.
He awakens consciences, sensitizes the public to environmental issues.
Fabrice Grux gives free rein to my imagination to create original works that invite the viewer to travel while delivering their own emotions.
