Discover the contemporary work of Fañch
A photographer for over thirty-five years, I have worked freelance for a German multinational in public and industrial lighting in France (BEGA LIMBURG), a communications agency and a studio in Paris. Based in Dordogne for over twenty years, I devote my time to working on the memory of places and people. I also work on gestures through dance photos, Tai Chi and concert photos.
Many of my exhibitions present women and men in their fragility.
All my photos tell a story and aim, if not to please, at least to challenge.

On Women:
- “Wounds ”, a work on physical and moral wounds since man has existed.
- “The Red Bra”, expresses the freedom of women.
- “The Passante du Chai” evokes the olfactory memory of an old wine storehouse.
- “Not Females but Women” translates the fragility of women.
- “Drunkenness” speaks of addiction to alcohol, in the feminine.
- “She had nevertheless said NO!”, on violence against women.
- “Everything is just dust”.
- “RECONSTRUCTION” which deals with resilience (in progress)
- “Bruised... But still a woman” (Breast cancer)
- “Double “I” ”
On men:
- “ the Old Man and Marilyn”, dealing with the unacknowledged desires of man.
- “HOMO SUM”, on the place of man in society.
I also work through “Traces” and “Desherence and Metamorphosis” on the memory of places
In the progression of my exhibitions, there is “Drunkenness”, “She had nevertheless said NO!!! ” and “HOMO SUM”, because in a home where there is alcohol, there is often violence and the child, witness to this chaos, having become a man, will have to find his place in society.
My models, all volunteers, are people I met during my exhibitions and who, interested in my vision of photography, were willing to enter my world.
My way of approaching themes:
I am offered a place, I visit it, I analyze the light according to the time and the season. Then following all these elements I draw sketches that will be the basis of my photo sessions. Then, it is a communion between this place, my inspiration and the model.
Namely: no artificial lighting (I use the raw light of the places) or cropping except for square formats.
Since COVID:
My work since the health crisis has evolved towards plastic photography. With several of my photos that I merge, I create a new, relatively surreal universe. On some of my compositions, I integrate the sketches that are the basis of my work.
- “Utopia”, “The Giants”, “ The Blue Cell ”, “Antique”, “Woman on the Sofa”, “Voyage in oneself”, “the reader”, “the man with the hat”, “On the beach” and “Legendary Brittany”, “the Sailors”
- Scene decomposition, approach to the idea of cinema in one image
Since my return to the country:
Since my return to the country, my native Brittany, I work on the memory of sailors, of legendary Brittany and continue my series on jazz and always in a surreal way
