I was born in 1966 in Italy, the country where I grew up and completed the first part of my studies, to then choose to settle in France (first in Nice, then in Aix en Provence and then in the Var). ... in tourism and it was during my many trips that I was able to sharpen my curiosity and my sense of observation, two essential assets in the practice of plastic arts. My paternal grandfather being a painter, I was immersed in an artistic environment from a very young age, learning to draw as an autodidact and gradually introducing myself to different techniques (charcoal drawing – with a predilection for portraits – in Indian ink, oil painting, acrylic and mixed techniques).
My works often betray a preference for the surrealist world, in which my “delusions” find their forms and vitality in an almost natural way. Several of my works also make a nod to Salvador Dalí, like “Dalía’s shadow” - "The Shadow of Dalí", in which I simply tried to imagine both the depth and the lightness of the dreams that excite a genius. But also "The Building of Memory" - « The construction of memory», my representation of a heterogeneous harmony of dreams, wishes, regrets, fascination and fear, in this surreal universe that corresponds to me, but which nonetheless becomes real in my memories.
Although I have gained practical experience over the years, I want to continue to explore in depth all the universes to which art gives us access, evolving naturally, as much as possible, towards new artistic and emotional horizons. My personal exhibition, which took place at the Croisée des Arts in Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume from January 20 to February 9, 2023, allowed me to understand that the public remains very sensitive to this kind of artistic and emotional evolution, regardless of the style, themes and techniques that one prefers. I am firmly convinced that the passion that motivates an artist remains at the origin of the triggering of an essential spark in the artistic world: curiosity.
So that we can be intrigued, astonished, surprised, even disconcerted sometimes, but.... never indifferent!
