Floriane Maels was brought up in Eze, a picturesque hill top village situated between Nice and Monte Carlo. Born in a family of artists, filled with wonder by the colours of the French Riviera and Provence, she has been painting since her childhood.These paintings reveal the Medieval walled gardens’ secrets and the South of France’s charming landscapes.She divides her time between travelling and being artist: oil paintings, water colours, sculptures. She opened her Studio - Gallery in Eze in 1985 as a freelance artist. On her paintings, sunshine and shade complement one another, colours blend in subtle touches. These are impressions, re-transcription of a ‘unit’.With what she calls « Émergences », she leads us to a secret universe, towards her feminine dreams, between conscious and subconscious, visions and symbols, dream and reality.
