Yann Hostingue « FOA » was born in 1984 in Montpellier, he launched into the art of graffiti and urban painting from
He was 15 years old while starting his studies as a stonemason. His years of work on stone and practice
technical drawing will influence his illustration work and his use of perspectives. Overpopulation, pollution,
alienating technology... Themes that are dear to him and which speak of the madness of the world. He represents them
in a world of bright colors, mixing architecture with fauna and flora.
Adapting to the situations proposed, he opened himself up to both sides. the creation of solo murals, that’’ interventions
participatory painting and screen printing with various audiences. Added to his skills, technique
sculpture in single pieces or in small series. For this he works to; starting from prototypes in plaster and earth then
molded in silicone, plaster or polyester resin in order to be able to multiply the prints.
In 2013 he participated in; his first group exhibition « Phew Expo 2 » where he creates a graffiti in full volume
granite slab. Since then, he has regularly taken part in group exhibitions in France and abroad; abroad,
as in the Arterossa gallery at Montpellier and the BBK art house in Paris Braunschweig in Germany. He is also invited
à participate in various festivals and street-art events to create frescoes and installations.
In 2018 he created the Les Pas Sages workshop, where he prints artist books and art posters. An artisanal practice
which crowns his versatility and which takes him to numerous self-publishing festivals in Europe:
Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, Rome, Naples... Screen printing also allows him to reproduce personal works
which he presents during exhibitions.
Since 2021, he has devoted himself mainly to drawing and muralism. through the creation of murals
for communities, businesses and individuals while continuing to work on works in volume. »
