Discover the contemporary work of François Rochet

Passionate about images and photography since I was very young, I discovered drawing in my final year of high school, obtaining an outstanding grade in my baccalaureate. This first experience awakened in me an artistic sensitivity that I then developed through watercolor and acrylic painting, exploring compositions of landscapes and portraits.

After a break imposed by my professional and family commitments, I resumed painting with fervor on the occasion of my retirement. I joined the Parisian painting school Les Ateliers Terre et Feux, located in the Temple district. For the past three years, I have devoted myself to reproducing works by masters, while adding my own personal touch.

I also draw inspiration from my own photographs, capturing unique places, characters and atmospheres. Curious to explore various artistic styles and movements, I am particularly interested in impressionism, pointillism, fauvism, as well as current trends in contemporary painting.

My work is a fusion of inspirations crossed with many artists. I revisit the works of the masters by adding my style, or reinterpret photos and patterns by borrowing the techniques and styles of impressionist, fauve, pointillist or nabi artists. Among my influences, we find Berthe Morisot, Nicolas de Staël, Henri Matisse, Félix Vallotton, Albert Marquet, Vincent Van Gogh, Pierre Bonnard and Raoul Dufy.
