Discover the contemporary work of Gil Nijar
I grew up surrounded by books, novels and comics, sheets of Canson paper, felt-tip pens and colored pencils that were all keys to open the doors to new worlds. While the boys my age were playing ball, I spent long hours writing down the heroes of my childhood on A4 paper that I had framed by my father and that I sold to the neighborhood. This passion for drawing has never left me even if I have sometimes been unfaithful to it.
To the definition of artist, I prefer the term "image creator" which seems to suit me better. Comic book fan (Moebius, Enki Bilal, Manara, Métal Hurlant...), computer graphics artist by training and designer when time is not limited, I traded my oil art chalks a few years ago for the "tools" of a digital palette or should I say "instruments" because each of my works is music in writing carried by hypnotizing bass lines. My works are "remixed" and reconstructed through the associations of ideas that cross my mind.
