Born in 1978, I currently live in the Lille region.
Manual since I was very young, however, it’s up to now. a commercial position In the worlds of design, fashion and decoration, I began my career for around fifteen years. With the arrival of motherhood, a change of life and priorities was necessary. in 2015. For several years, I have dedicated myself solely to my passion, sculpture which I have made my profession.
Trained in working with volume on different supports, it is in working with the earth that I find my greatest pleasure. The earth soothes me, recharges my batteries, allows me to escape for a few hours, in a semi-meditative state. Time no longer has any influence, the brain disconnects from everything that interferes with it.
I imagine it's related to this. à the very essence of matter, this nourishing mother earth which allows us to anchor. In it, I find the same sensations as with the power of the elements, the sea and the wind which sweep the coasts of my childhood and give me a sense of purpose. both energy and calming.
The hours spent at Studying the living model and the anatomy of the human body gives me a particular attraction for this theme which I stage in positions where it is a natural subject. the body is highlighted (dance, sport...), but also in the feelings it expresses (love, motherhood...). The body speaks, expresses an emotion, a secret and intimate language that is not expressed in person. by speech.
I am also inspired by the richness of the trips that I have been able to take, whether it be the sounds, the colors, the emotions. I am in love with nature, with people, with elsewhere. Serenity, emotions, sharing, surpassing oneself are the key words of my personality.
I continue to do so train regularly with other artists in order to improve myself and also discover other techniques linked to working with the earth, (Kintsugi, Raku, Obvara, Neriage…) in order to be able to transmit my knowledge to those who want to discover these disciplines.
Quiet strength, depth of colors, deceptive appearances, openwork, balance and fragility. are the identifiable features of Gwendoline's work.
Attracted by the grace of the female body in movement, the travels she was able to make, particularly in Asia, also left her feeling inspired. their imprint. She loves people and elsewhere, the variety of things. which creates wealth. Diversity The themes that she works in earth but also in bronze nevertheless have one thing in common: the quiet strength that we find in a meditating monk, a yogi in a perilous position, a feline in ready to rest jump, or even a weakened face; who found the strength of reconstruction. His pieces often offer duality. a double reading, with both very clear on one side, and then openwork from another angle. Everyone can read what they want to see there, a crack, an interior void, or rather the release of an overflow, a lightness, the ;balance of strength and fragility…
Finally, its patinas give a depth that invites the viewer to explore; look beyond surface layers and appearances and at; go towards your own introspection…
