Discover the contemporary work of hanna.meunier.art
Born in Sevastopol, Ukraine, I have always been fascinated by the natural beauty of my home region of Crimea. Since my childhood, I have always felt a deep connection with the sea and the waves crashing against the cliffs. My passion for art manifested itself early, pushing me to take academic drawing classes where I acquired my technical skills.
As I grew up, I discovered the works of modern and contemporary painters. Awakened by these influences, I began to explore watercolor, a technique that allowed me to express the fluidity and transparency of seascapes and scenes of everyday life. Thanks to online courses taught by renowned artists, I enriched my style, integrating elements of modernity while preserving the delicacy of my approach.
The recurring themes of my work include dancing waves, and colorful alleys that tell stories of life. Flowers, delicate and vibrant, also occupy an important place in these compositions, symbolizing the beauty ephemeral nature.
Today, I am recognized for my ability to capture the essence of the sea and urban landscapes through my watercolors. I continue to explore new techniques and subjects, while staying true to my roots, which allows me to create works that touch the heart and soul.
My artistic approach focuses on finding harmony between natural and maritime elements. As a watercolorist, I explore nuances of color and light, capturing the transparency of water and the movement of waves.
Painting boats at sea allows me to symbolize navigation and adventure, while flowers, in contrast, would evoke delicacy and ephemeral beauty. This duality is a central theme in my work, where the strength of the sea meets the fragility of flora.
By integrating specific techniques, such as gradients and washes, I play with textures and atmospheres, creating works that invite contemplation and escape.
