Discover the contemporary work of henri crespy
Trained in graphic arts in Paris, Henri navigates with great ease in
different creative universes: his job as artistic director in Parisian agencies
naturally leads him to be interested in production. Between the 80s and
2020, he will produce and direct a number of spots in L'Océan Indien, integrating over
the years new technologies, compositing, special effects on
computers. The era of roughs and other storyboards sketched with felt-tip pens
(Magic Marker) for agencies is long gone. Back to the brushes
during covid, he put away his filming equipment and threw himself into
painting (acrylic). Even if he still creates some figurative canvases, his
orientation is abstract expressionism. He likes Shirley Jaffe, Pollock, Kandinsky,
Joan Mitchell, and... German expressionism.
Residing in Mauritius, I am deeply influenced by the tropical vegetation, the blue sky and the turquoise sea, which are reflected in my artistic approach. Although my tendency is to paint according to my mood, in an expressionist style, I always strive to be in the present moment.
