For three decades, I have been collecting my images in the street and photographing the people who use them. Under the influence of humanist photographers of the last century, I tried to to freeze, on my black and white films, a tiny portion of the lives of the people I encountered, moments in the past; both mundane and unique. The work « Inconnus Familiers / Familiar Unknowns (Snap Collective Publishing / London) is in some ways the culmination of this approach, bringing together photos of strangers taken from life.
Artistic approach
For several years, I have been trying to develop my approach as an author-photographer by composing series using social, documentary or purely artistic character.
