Since 2019, I have devoted myself fully to my career as a professional artist, the aim of which was exclusively aesthetic and consisted of to make what beauty inspired me of Caribbean nature, through a figurative style and colors as close to reality as possible. as possible. However, it was in 2022 that my art took a whole new direction. When I was going through a phase of depression, I used art as therapy to find and rescue myself.
While maintaining tropical nature as my favorite subject, I began to explore nature. also express my discomfort: that of a Humanity who has everything, but which is not to be its place ; which lacks nothing, except a sense of purpose. his existence ; who masters his environment, but who is no longer part of it. We must not trust appearances, behind works full of joy, lies the dark side. My works, with bright and pure colors, are a reflection of this quest for my own spark of life, the one that animates us all.
They want to honor the lushness and resilience of nature to explore further. through it our own human feelings and establish a parallel between it and our inner light, which both come from the same creative source.
I want to convey a simple message: whatever the difficulties of our human condition, Life is in us and around us, and it is important to keep the link with it.
To translate this message that comes from the stomach into watercolor, I let my instinct express itself when painting. Even if I first determine what subject I am going to deal with, I then let go, to let myself be guided by the colors and the water. My composition emerges gradually. measure, and life appears there. where there was only a white paper.
My goal is that people can see my works as a dreamlike representation of our life energy and connect to it in a meaningful way. their turn.
