Discover the contemporary work of Iris Veyssiere
With a background in applied arts and then studies in graphic design and artistic direction, I am a young Parisian artist. I express myself through my paintings by creating romantic landscapes represented by color schemes and geometric shapes inspired by architecture.
In the Hills series, I explore the seasonality and temporality of imaginary places by playing with flat colors. Each canvas has its own reading that calls upon our personal feelings of lived memories. Through their structures and color variations, I seek to tend towards a universal pictorial language where patterns fade away to make way for our personal images.
At the same time, I venture into the personal images of others to create windows onto romantic views. "What is the landscape that recharges you?" From this question I create my Windows series.
Through this process, I immerse myself in the stories to transcribe them with my own inspirations drawn from my daily life, my dreams and my travels.
