Jean Christophe Druet: Creative resilience at the heart of abstraction
Jean Christophe Druet, initially trained as a carpenter, saw his life turned upside down in 1986 following a serious accident. This event marked the beginning of a profound change, leading him to improve his drawing skills and discover his passion for painting during a memorable visit to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. In 2002, after another traumatic incident, he found solace and motivation in painting, embarking on an intensive daily practice for three years.
His artistic career is informed by a rich and complex life, marked by seventeen moves, travel to twenty-five countries, and intense personal experiences, including the tragic loss of a sister and the unwavering support of his brother, his two daughters, his partner and his friends. Since 2020, Jean Christophe has devoted himself fully to his passion, creating abstract and semi-figurative works that capture the beauty raw of life.
Painting mainly with a knife using an "alla prima" technique, he translates his emotions through vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. Each canvas thus becomes an invitation to free the imagination and feel the joy of living that he expresses through his works. An eclectic artist, he has developed his skills in various fine arts workshops, relentlessly pursuing his quest for artistic expression.
