Discover the contemporary work of José de Pazos
José de Pazos (Cádiz, 1976) has been working in the artistic scene for more than 25 years, at only 17 years old he made his first individual exhibition.
He has developed an individual style that includes Urban Pop Art works with a clear identity.
His Art studies, specializing in Photography, led him to work as a reporter for important national and international agencies.
He is currently dedicated full time to graphic design as CEO of a printing and graphic design company and producing works of art that hang on walls around the world.
The work of José de Pazos is a composite of art, culture and the daily lifestyle of a pop artist. His creative process combines professional observation and originality, with an irresistible curiosity to express himself. This has given rise to his remarkable ability to merge the street art scene with Pop art, creating an excellent intersection between our world, and the world of cartoons, representing the emotional charge of our childhood, thus finding the magic recipe for the perfect balance between contemporary codes and spontaneous street art, denouncing the excesses of our capitalist society, but with a light touch of humor, creating fun, often absurd situations. His work transmits a feeling of magic with humor and light touches of childhood nostalgia.
He works in different visual languages, from acrylic to ink. Most of the works are executed with spray paint on canvas, wood or paper of various weights and textures, although sometimes he delights us with his characters in recycled objects from everyday life: skateboards, fire extinguishers...
He uses superpositions of textures with stencils, collages and different mixed techniques, making his work very recognizable and with a defining style, where he shows his passion for textures and layers as a viewer, incorporating that feeling into his works.
