Discover the contemporary work of Josef Hirthammer
Josef Hirthammer (*1951 in Bad Reichenhall) studied in Munich and lives and works in Fürth. He has been working freelance for over 40 years and is a very committed and productive artist; he says of himself: "Not a day goes by when I don't create art, because art is in my head. A life without art would be unimaginable for me"! His biography is correspondingly long, with a large number of exhibitions, mainly in Germany, including in 2015 at the Museum Würth, Künzelsau, as well as trade fairs in Basel, Karlsruhe and Cologne.
Critics and authors agree: Hirthammer is considered one of the most versatile artists of our time. He consciously evades any categorization. His work does not fit into any classic pigeonhole, but his trademark is diversity: painting, drawing, photography, digital painting, sculpture and installation are his creative media.
