Discover the contemporary work of JYELLE
Born in France, as a teenager in the USA, she had a major encounter at the age of 15, in the person of a Fine Arts teacher who awakened in her a passion for painting. Her professional life is devoted to another passion: teaching. Upon retirement, painting can finally take its essential place, and Jyelle has devoted herself entirely to it since. First exhibition as a member of an association in La Rochelle (France) in 2021. Then first solo exhibition in 2023 in St Savinien (France). This will be followed by an exhibition in a gallery in Nice in March 2024, and an exhibition with a watercolor artist in Dec. 2024, in St Savinien. Her works were exhibited at the Amsterdam Art Fair in Nov. 2024 and she was chosen as a referent painter at the Circle Foundation for the Arts (USA). She was awarded the special jury prize twice for her paintings in 2024.
The Alsatian and English naifs, Henri Matisse, the Douanier Rousseau, Frida Kahlo are the source of her inspiration. Her stays in tropical countries nourish her imagination with bright and frank colors, and the exuberance of nature enriches her creativity. Jyelle uses oil, this medium allowing her to best translate her sensuality and her moods. Her dreamlike world rich in colors wants to take the amateur into a gourmet reverie that brings him pleasure and zenitude.
