Discover the contemporary work of Kako Coline
Kako alias Karine Coignard Colinet (born April 21, 1971 in Angers)
now lives in Baugé in Anjou, a pretty town rich in historical and forest heritage.
I spent beautiful moments of my childhood, in a small village on the edge of the Chandelais forest. It is in this naturally soothing environment that I learned to look at nature and then to recognize mushrooms. Very attracted by the rural heritage, I chose to work there and then to learn stone cutting and sculpture. Some restorations on historical monuments will be the subject of my interest for the "transformation of stone" but also on any form of graphic and photographic creation.
Since 2023, I have been drawing and trying my hand at illustration in ink, watercolor as well as some collages associated with my creations on a background of maritime or tourist maps.
The "map" object has always aroused interest, curiosity and sometimes emotion in me. Emotions of guessing a territory, different lives and beings attached to it.
20 years ago, I created an associative workshop "Kako Pierres" in Juvardeil in order to introduce young and old to "feeling" stone and to enjoy it whether you are initiated or not.
Since 2023, I have allowed myself to draw, to illustrate on different papers, thin cardboards that I make and where I sometimes use pieces of maritime or tourist maps.
I chose ink, watercolor and collage in order to play on transparencies, movement effects and an impression of ephemeral lines.
