Discover the contemporary work of Kiká Gómez Ilian
Franco-Spanish artist, born in 1973, graduated from Fine Arts and professor of creation in higher education establishment of applied arts and design in the south of France. For a very long time I devoted myself to oil painting, drawing inspiration from the great surrealist masters to develop my own style. Over time, my profession encouraged me to explore the potential offered by technological advances. I embraced digital painting while preserving my mastery of traditional methods. To do this, I began by transposing my paper technique using a specific graphics tablet, allowing a simultaneous transition from paper to screen. I then work on the raw material of the initial drawing, carefully applying colors, shadows and lights to digital brushes. Thus, each creation retains its singularity and comes closer to traditional painting.
Thanks to this dual technique and my commitment to the singularity of each work, I hope to enhance this contemporary painting technique.
Once completed, each work is printed on art paper and the most suitable medium, in harmony with its message, thus giving a tangible and organic dimension to my paintings.
My work as a digital painter is an exploration of the subtle connections between love and death, dreams and reality, nature and humanity. I am fascinated by how these themes are woven together to form the complex fabric of our existence.
Creation allows me to bring to life visions that escape the constraints of the material world. My artistic process is guided by intuition, dreams and the desire to translate emotions into images. Love and death, these primordial forces, intertwine in my work, not as opposites, but as complementary elements of an endless cycle. I seek to capture their essence, their fragility, and their power of transformation.
The dream is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. It is a territory where the impossible becomes possible, where the boundaries of logic dissolve to make way for pure imagination. My works invite the viewer to enter this dreamlike space, to question reality and to be carried away by visions that follow no rules, except that of feeling.
I am also deeply attached to nature and concerned about its future. Through my creations, I try to capture its beauty, but also to highlight the threats that weigh on it. I believe that art can be a powerful way to raise awareness and provoke reflection on our relationship with the world.
My work is not a claim, but rather a passionate quest for truth and beauty, a mixture of feeling and intellectual reflection, an invitation to explore the depths of our being, to dream also and above all.
