Discover the contemporary work of Kristina Bastian

I was born in 1970 in Stadthagen, in Lower Saxony.

I studied painting at the "Accademia di belle arti" in Venice. From

2000 to 2002 I designed and realized the "Sensation and Pleasure Garden" with various artistic elements in Bruneck, South Tyrol. During this time I moved to the glassblowing island of Murano and got married.

2004 I completed my diploma in fine arts in Italy with the topic: "Body, cloth, jewelry - a transformation of emotion in form, material and color."

In 2005 I created "The festival of the senses - colors, flavors and scents" in collaboration with the city of Venice and various cultural groups in the greenhouse of the Gardini di Venezia.

In 2008 I took part in the international design workshop of the furniture manufacturer LagoSpa in Padova. Birth of son Leo on the island of Murano in Venice.

I create my art, which is difficult to categorize, from painting, collage and experimental mixed techniques that I have developed myself. "Cuore cantante", the singing heart, runs through my works like an invisible thread.

Colors, shapes, smells, the power of nature and the observation of things and people guide me. For me, everything is painting: designing a garden as well as a picture or an installation. The focus is always on people. Immersed in nature, engrossed in dance, capturing and intensifying feelings with color and light.
