Discover the contemporary work of Laurence Thomas Thiebau

Laurence Thiebau is an abstract painter born in France. Her first steps towards painting were taken with drawing lessons when she was 16 years old. Very quickly, oil painting replaced the more precise curves of the pencil before she discovered acrylic painting. Her interest in the possible nuances of colors and materials was obvious.

Her work as a psychotherapist and the special bond she builds with each of her patients allows the emotions that need to be heard after days of consultations to be expressed through her paintings. When she works in hypnosis with her patients, distant emotions awaken for them, in their feelings which are transcribed, the need is then born in the artist to put colors on their ills.

The patients thus embark the artist in their emotions which can sometimes be as colorful as dark.

When she pauses for a moment, in her inner space, other colors and shapes can then emerge.

The nuanced colors recall the immensity of the sky, the sea and the still virgin unexplored lands. The burning rays of the sun are covered in gold and the icy cold of the Antarctic poles give way to the hues from which a multitude of blues decline.

When nature awakens its secret emotions, tones of green, wood and stone mix in a continuous ballet. The reliefs made of bumps and hollows let its imagination run wild so that everyone can see their own representation.

Various meetings and sales of its paintings have taken place in private exhibitions.
