Discover the contemporary work of Liberaj Cicoj
My self-taught artistic journey is rooted in a deep feminist approach, centered on the issue of the hypersexualization of the female breast. Since my beginnings, I have explored various mediums, ranging from painting to sculpture, to deconstruct stereotypes and redefine the perception of the female body. My work is inspired by the history of art and contemporary social movements, seeking to provoke reflection and encourage dialogue.
À Through my works, I question cultural norms and societal expectations, highlighting the power and vulnerability of the breast as a symbol. Each piece is an invitation to look beyond imposed eroticism, to appreciate the diversity and naturalness of the female body. My artistic commitment aims to create a space where women can reclaim their image and identity, far from external constraints and judgments.
My artistic practice is distinguished by a unique approach where my breast becomes a creative tool, a stamp that leaves its mark on the canvas. Using this method, I free the breast from its direct association with the body, transforming it into a desexualized symbol. Each imprint on the canvas is a testament to this process of reappropriation and detachment from traditional erotic connotations.
The stamping process allows me to capture the essence of the breast as an autonomous artistic element, inviting the viewer to see it in a new light. My work highlights the breast's ability to exist outside of societal expectations, as a pure form that carries multiple meanings. This practice challenges norms and invites us to: a deep reflection on the perception of the female body in art and society.
By desexualizing the imprint of the breast, I seek to create a dialogue around the redefinition of female identity, where the body is no longer an object of desire but an expression of freedom and individuality. My art then becomes an act of resistance against hypersexualization, proposing an alternative and emancipatory vision of the female body.
Liberaj Cicoj means: free nipple in Esperanto
"The breast serves as a buffer, it sublimates the flat areas of color, it is both the tool and the work itself, without filter and yet unrecognizable, it is this body that provokes and invokes the spirit. It reveals its nature through superpositions of matter, explorations of texture, plays on nuances, it is the projection of the creation of the human, of the essence of humanity. Flesh becomes energy, the breast and nipple are affixed, juxtaposed, they tell a story, their story, our story, leaving the viewer, co-creator of the work, to project his own emotions and wander according to his sensitivity.
By reappropriating his body, far from judgments, boxes, constraints, the free nipple delivers to us its identity and the soul of its beauty. Liberaj Cicoj transmits to us the message of our origins, our place in the world, and the depth of human values. The breast does not appear immediately to the viewer who, when he discovers it, is given the key to his wonder. His face lights up, he is both surprised and carried away by a universe of mysteries and obvious clarity."
