Discover the contemporary work of Lilian
Drawing his subjects from everyday urban life, this painter focuses his gaze on the openings, the nooks and crannies and the beings who populate it. Lilian attempts to translate into painting the poetry that emerges from unusual urban landscapes, ordinary places and some forgotten ones. During his urban wanderings, he immerses himself in places, observes and records atmospheres, objects, emotions. When the eye of the photographer joins forces with the hand of the painter, the works revive the tradition of easel painting. Photography as a sketch, Lilian prepares her canvases using a technique learned in the Parisian workshop of Valentin Caro, a realist painter from the Spanish movida. Mixing reliefs, play of colors and hyper-realism, he invites us to explore a singular pictorial journey through across territories of Berlin, Athens, Paris and its suburbs.
