Discover the contemporary work of Linda Rachdi
It was a wound of the soul that led Linda Rachdi, a professional photographer, to become a painter. Her first collection, called "Awakening", highlights the theme of the elements.
We can perceive the evolution of her state of mind through her creative process, as a quest for resilience, a rebirth.
The collection is divided into two parts:
For the first, the artist experimented with a technique that was completely new to her, the 'painting slide', also known as 'acrylic pouring'
First, it is necessary to prepare the paint by combining it with a medium, such as vinyl glue, to avoid mixing the colors. Then, once the paint is applied to the canvas, it must be tilted in different directions to create a drawing full of expressions.
Like a struggle to maintain balance. A boat that pitches.
Paintings that evoke a feeling of movement and instability. This pitching sensation symbolizes his emotions such as uncertainty, instability, anxiety but always the will to stay on course.
By creating such an effect, the artist invites the viewer to physically and emotionally feel the experience of this constant movement, thus reinforcing the immersion and engagement with each work.
The choice of colors is often inspired by the aquatic universe, but sometimes, hues evoking lava eruptions, with bright reds and touches of glitter, make their appearance.
After exploring the depths of his dark moments of life, the artist felt a need to return to the roots, to find a new center of gravity and this is felt in her works "Earth and Fire"
This series of paintings marks a radical turning point.
The collection evolves.
The blue, red and moving colors give way to warm and reassuring hues.
She chooses ochre, sienna, earthy browns, and bursts of gold leaf.
Each painting evokes a feeling of stability, warmth, and deep connection with the Earth.
A period where we feel her need for powerful anchoring, she paints her canvases with her fingers to connect directly with her canvas.
This is how a profound transformation begins in her creation and in her life.
Linda Rachdi has gotten back up and she wants this to be seen in her works.
The artist has infused each canvas with a part of her soul and wants to share it with the whole world.
She transports us to a new phase of her artistic life.
