Discover the contemporary work of Luc Reichert
In the early 90s I expanded my simple drawings by taking my first steps with watercolor and oil painting.
I didn't really study art, so I classify myself in the category of self-taught.
After many years, I would say that my style is recognizable.
I call it minimal pop art.
Although I only use watercolors and acrylic paints.
My watercolors are minimal, sometimes provocative and mainly based on two or three colors.
My acrylic works are very detailed, but always minimal.
I want to express the maximum with the minimum.
I have been exhibiting since the 90s, not only in Luxembourg,
but also well beyond the borders.
For example in Vienna, Oxford, Saarbrücken, Metz, and finally in New York.
There is a good anecdote about New York.
In a gallery, I had three paintings, two had been sold and one had mysteriously disappeared. I was pretty upset, but ultimately,
I think it's a pretty cool situation.
Somewhere in the world, there's my unfindable painting.
I like to create, immerse myself in my work, that's why I use a lot of recycled art, old books, frames, etc.
I would say it's my drug, actually...
September 2024, I got the opportunity to take over the
Sainte Alvère Art Gallery.
I have always dreamed of having my own gallery, and now it is a reality.
