Discover the contemporary work of Marc DANCRE
Artistic work replenishes my daily life as an octogenarian self-taught painter, while my subjects revolve around the Human, the freely deciphered natural living! This is why, wishing to restore the charismatic spontaneity, the expression, the vitality or the bitterness of a look, the attitude or the fleeting movement, my characters live and intertwine with the colorful links of a turbulent palette, so true is it that through a visual identity freeing itself from trends, "the Human" remains the incomparable evocative power of our feelings!
Having lived a professional career full of challenges, and while the winter frosts gently tickle me, I remain a fervent admirer of beauty and generous Art! My quest on ARTactif is above all to make people appreciate a style that "contemporary sensibilities" considered "obsolete"... Mission seems accomplished, since many are, every day, the visits lingering on one or the other of my almost two hundred exhibited paintings!!!

A fan of brushed "oil", more than 500 figurative canvases and frescoes nuanced with rough impressionism, constitute my catalog, remaining faithful to the intimate, to the visual reality, to the depth and dynamics of the subject! I remain an inveterate "painter of the "old" who, fixing the image on the canvas (nature being sufficient in itself..) works it without the need for reinterpretation!! Thus a human body, a face, will be translated into their visual realities. or approaching them!!
I have, as an amateur, participated in exhibitions of which I have not kept a record, so much so that only the pleasure "of being" and share, motivated my presence... Some paintings were noticed there, some sold, finally more numerous those offered to loved ones... This is how except in cases of personal attachment to a painting, I propose commercial values that have remained in minimalist coherence of the "ARTactif" expertise... As much as I convince myself that at the magic moment triggering his desire, the amateur will free himself from the financial aspects, because appropriating the coveted work is identified with a love journey!!
Residents of a comfortable "haut savoyarde" house, the delicate porcelain painter that is my wife, and I, live within our creations! Because in addition to the precious porcelain, more than seventy canvases and frescoes animate our living space! And it is thus that at nightfall, while I walk along the walls winding to the place of rest, are established under our crossed glances, moments devoid of subterfuge with my characters, a sort of emotional brilliance inducing the idea of survival through the work constituted, and induced memories! Silent connivances which in the shadows, soothe the sporadic unfolding of my rest... . prostate!!
