Discover the contemporary work of Maria-Teresa Farré
As an autodidact, I am constantly looking for new avenues of artistic expression, guided by my passion for the material. Recycling and color are my companions of choice in this quest.
My adventure in sculpture really began in 2010, when I first took my first steps in a workshop in Haute-Savoie. I was quickly fascinated by the infinite possibilities of clay. My experiments continued in the southwest, where I explored pit firing techniques (using RIF clay), giving birth to characters and utilitarian objects.
Since 2021, cats have become an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Their presence in my daily life has naturally translated into my creations, whether in drawing, painting or sculpture. Their ceramic portraits are as many testimonies of my fascination for their grace and mystery.
Influenced by the vibrant colors of Spain, the whimsical world of my father and the expressive force of Frida Kahlo, I create unique works that reflect my inner world. The sculptures of Rodin and Camille Claudel have also marked my artistic journey, awakening in me the desire to give shape to my emotions.
Today, in Jean-Charles Viguié's studio, I continue my artistic exploration, nourished by a dreamlike and aquatic world that enriches my creative palette. From the first experiments with clay in Haute-Savoie to portraits of cats and pit firings, my artistic journey is a constant quest for new expressions, guided by my passion for materials and color.
