Discover the contemporary work of Marie Le Métour

Born in southern Brittany, from a large family, my first feelings of wanting to create were those in front of the many creations that my older brother made in his workshop, with inspiration and ingenuity, he created works more impressive than the others, but I was still too young to follow his path and was not to the taste of my parents. Unfortunately, the years passed without daring to take the plunge. I have had a thousand lives, a thousand jobs, it was much later, with my second brother Claude in his workshop that I realized that this desire to create was still there... So I learned to weld and then to work with metal. First of all, I asked a lot of questions, observed, manipulated, understood the basics of a job well done. Then, I did multiple tests again and again on various pieces of steel, then tubes, plates and finally the tools... And from there, a passion was born.
Art has always transported and questioned me at the same time. Creativity itself can surprise or, on the contrary, give wings, it can also disturb or excite, but we will always have something to say. For me, art and creativity both convey a balance between imagination and realization. Beyond this concept, I am certain that by creating original and unique works by reusing existing materials and objects, I know that I am participating in an approach of respect.
