Marie France MATEU 

Marie-France MATEU has been passionate about drawing and painting since her childhood. Imbued with the colors and light of her native country, Morocco, she would much later translate onto canvas all the emotions that Africa aroused in her.

A self-taught painter, she naturally depicts landscapes and faces through the prism of a very strong perception of beings and nature. Settled on the French Riviera since her early youth, Marie-France MATEU also draws her inspiration from the lights of the Mediterranean.

Her way of constructing the spirituality of her intimate thoughts in abstraction takes her to a new level in her creative process. The discovery of new forms, the energy of the line, the harmony or shock of colors, the mastery of techniques and the demanding search for a personal aesthetic, reveal a personality sensitive and authentic.

The various themes of her work form as many facets of her evolution towards an original expression that is always voluntary and respectful of a thought nourished by the lucid, attentive and sincere look that she brings to her contemporaries and the world around her
